Children's Photographs and Images
At our school, we take the privacy and protection of children's images and personal information very seriously. Photographs, videos and personal information are only used to celebrate and share learning with parents and, where permission has been given, on our website, social media platforms and other marketing or promotional materials. We ask all parents and carers to complete a photo permissions form when their child joins the school, and we review these permissions regularly throughout your time with us. If your circumstances change or you wish to amend any permissions you have provided, please let us know and we will update our records accordingly.
Photo Permissions:
Digital technologies are an integral part of our curriculum at St Mary’s. We use photographs and video footage of learning activities to help the children evaluate the quality of their learning – as well as for sharing and celebrating their achievements. These are captured as they happen with all the children interacting together.
The children really enjoy seeing these images and feedback from parents who have seen slide shows in assemblies, photographs on the TV screens around school and on Class Dojo. Being able to select from these images so that we can share with the wider community the quality of education that we offer here at St Mary’s is very important to us.
Class Dojo:
ClassDojo is a school communication platform that teachers and families can use to share what’s being learned in the classroom or home. This can be through photos, videos, and messages. Class Dojo is a closed group – only accessed via parental login and images cannot be downloaded.
School Website:
We currently do not show any photographs on our school website and do not plan to do so for the foreseeable future. If we do decide to show photographs they would not be named.
Photos for Local Newspapers or social media
You would be contacted to give specific permission if we would like to use photographs in the media, for example local newspapers or on social media/X.
