Ofsted

Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education) is the independent government body responsible for inspecting schools in England to ensure they provide a high standard of education and care. Inspectors visit schools at regular intervals and carry out a structured process that includes a pre‑inspection planning discussion, on‑site visits over one or more days, lesson observations, conversations with pupils and staff, and a review of evidence about teaching, leadership, behaviour and outcomes. Schools are then evaluated against a national framework and receive a published report identifying strengths and areas for development.

At St Mary’s, our engagement with Ofsted reflects a clear commitment to maintaining these high standards, using inspection as an opportunity to reflect on practice, celebrate what is working well, and continue improving the quality of education for all pupils. Please see our most recent Ofsted report below.
